Pottery: Wheel Throwing with Susan Palmer — July-August 2026

Aug 11 @ 9:30 am - 1:30 pm
$400.00
Handmade ceramic bowls and cups with sgraffito lobster designs in red and white by Susan Palmer, pottery instructor at A Maker's Circle in Pottersville NJ

There’s something almost meditative about the pottery wheel — and this 6-week class with a 7th week for a make up, is where you learn to make it work for you. Taught by veteran potter and sgraffito expert, Susan Palmer, this small-group class is open to true beginners and experienced throwers alike.

Over 7 sessions, you’ll work through the fundamentals of throwing on the pottery wheel: centering, opening, pulling, and shaping. You’ll create bowls, cups, vases, and plates — functional pieces built with proper technique from the start. Susan’s teaching style emphasizes doing things right so the results actually show, in a supportive, unhurried environment where you have room to find your rhythm at the wheel.

With a maximum of just 7 students, you’ll get consistent, hands-on attention every class. Clay and all firing are included — just show up ready to get your hands dirty.

Thursdays, July 14-August 25 | 9:30am–1:30pm | 7 weeks |  All levels welcome
