Jacqueline Pidgeon Pankuck
Jackie Pankuck comes from a long line of Irish "makers" of arts and crafts. Her mother and grandmother were master…

Christine grew up in Poughkeepsie, NY, one of four daughters of a Cuban-born father and an American-born mother. She earned her A.B. in English from Bryn Mawr College in 1991, then went on to receive a Certificate in Painting and Printmaking from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in 1995, where she was awarded a Louis S. Ware Memorial Scholarship for European Travel.
Her career began in Philadelphia, where she won her first major exhibition through the Fleisher Challenge Competition. She then served as Artist-in-Residence at the Fleisher Art Memorial from 1997 to 2002, during which time she began teaching painting.
In 2003, Christine moved to Brooklyn, NY to earn her MFA from Brooklyn College. She soon began exhibiting with Frost and Reed Fine Art, with solo exhibitions in New York in 2006 and London in 2008. Over the following decade, she traveled and painted extensively — in Havana, Cuba; County Cork, Ireland; Oldwick, New Jersey; Mount Desert Island, Maine; Tuscany, Italy; and Old San Juan, Puerto Rico. In March 2020, she returned to Puerto Rico and sheltered-in-place there for five months during the Coronavirus pandemic.
In 2023, Christine received a grant from the Schaevitz Foundation and attended a printmaking residency at Scuola Internazionale di Grafica in Venice, Italy. She lives and works in Brooklyn, NY and paints in Maine in the summers.
