Pattern Drafting and Sewing the Perfect Skirt

Find yourself frustrated looking for a cute skirt that fits well, you might want to try drafting your own pattern and pulling out that sewing machine to make it… It’s not nearly as hard as you might think!
In this two part class, Jackie Pankuck will teach you how to take proper body measurements, create a pattern for a skirt with darts. Then take her intermediate sewing class to put it together. With these basics, you’ll be on your way to creating a whole new wardrobe.
What You Will Learn in this two part class:
- How to take accurate measurements
- Pattern mathematics to draft a pattern
- Adding darts and shaping
- Cutting and labeling pattern pieces
- In part two, we will take you through sewing and finishing your skirt using a sewing machine
Note: All pattern making materials will be provided. Skirt fabric, thread and zipper to be provided by students. We will provide suggestions for materials upon registration.
