SUMMARY:Pottery: Hand Building with Laurie Scupp and Susan Palmer — May-July 2026
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]\nAbout the Class\nNo wheel required — just your hands\, some clay\, and a whole lot of possibility. This 8-week hand building class with instructor Laurie Scupp covers the core techniques of clay work without the wheel: pinch pots\, coil building\, and slab construction. \nYou’ll move through each method with guidance\, building functional pieces like mugs\, bowls\, and plates\, while also having room to experiment with more sculptural and abstract forms. Whether you’re brand new to ceramics or looking for a focused space to continue your own ceramic practice\, this class supports both. The small class size — just 8 students — means Laurie is right there with you\, every step of the way. \nClay and all firing are included. You’ll leave with finished pieces and a strong foundation in the building techniques that make hand building one of the most versatile skills in ceramics. \nTuesdays\, May 19 – July 7 | 10am–1pm | 8 weeks | All levels welcome \nMaterials\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAll materials and firings are included. \nCancellation Policy\nStudents cancelling at least one week prior to the start of class will receive a full refund. SUMMARY:Pottery: Wheel Throwing with Susan Palmer — May–July 2026
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]\nAbout the Class\nThere’s something almost meditative about the pottery wheel — and this 8-week class is where you learn to make it work for you. Taught by veteran potter and sgraffito expert\, Susan Palmer\, this small-group class is open to true beginners and experienced throwers alike. \nOver eight sessions\, you’ll work through the fundamentals of throwing on the pottery wheel: centering\, opening\, pulling\, and shaping. You’ll create bowls\, cups\, vases\, and plates — functional pieces built with proper technique from the start. Susan’s teaching style emphasizes doing things right so the results actually show\, in a supportive\, unhurried environment where you have room to find your rhythm at the wheel. \nWith a maximum of just 7 students\, you’ll get consistent\, hands-on attention every class. Clay and all firing are included — just show up ready to get your hands dirty. \nThursdays\, May 21 – July 9 | 9:30am–1:30pm | 8 weeks |  All levels welcome \nMaterials\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAll materials and firings are included. \nCancellation Policy\nStudents cancelling at least one week prior to the start of class will receive a full refund. SUMMARY:Oil Painting with Andrea Gianchiglia — July–August 2026
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]\nAbout the Class\nOil painting has a richness that no other medium quite matches — and this summer\, you’ll learn to use it with intention. Artist and instructor Andrea Gianchiglia leads this 6-week series designed to build real\, foundational painting skills from the ground up. \nEach session focuses on core techniques: color mixing\, light and shadow\, composition\, brushwork\, and understanding your materials. You’ll work from photographs — either Andrea’s curated selection or images from your own collection — so your work stays personal and meaningful. Every week includes a live demo tackling a specific challenge\, whether that’s subject matter\, technique\, or a particular painting element. You can use the demo as a direct exercise or as a reference while continuing your own project — the pace is yours to set. \nThis is an opportunity to study with an instructor experienced in oil painting in an intimate\, small-group setting. Whether you’re picking up a brush for the first time or looking to sharpen skills you already have\, Andrea meets you where you are… \nTuesdays\, July 14 – August 18 | 10am–12:30pm | 6 sessions | All levels welcome \nMaterials\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOil paint colors — Titanium White\, Viridian\, Burnt Sienna\, Yellow Ochre\, Sap Green\, Alizarin Crimson\, Phthalo Blue\, Cadmium Yellow\, Ultramarine Blue\, Cadmium Red \nOptional: Portland Warm Grey and Portland Cool Grey (made by Gamblin)\, Ice Blue (Richeson Shiva Series)\, Kings Blue by Michael Harding \nThere are many brands to choose from. The instructor recommends Winsor & Newton or Grumbacher. Winsor & Newton has two quality grades: Professional Artist and student grade. The student grade is called Winton. The instructor recommends the Artist grade — the quality is better\, though the price is slightly higher. \nAcrylic paint — one tube of Yellow Ochre \nPalette (used for mixing paint). The instructor will go over different types of palettes in class. If you’d like\, you can wait until the first class to decide which type you prefer (use a paper palette pad in the meantime). A large wooden palette or a piece of clear glass also works great. \nPalette box — Used to store your wet palette after class and between painting sessions. Available at Michaels — it is a Tupperware-like box with a blue top and white bottom. \nTurpenoid (small container) \nLiquin by Winsor & Newton — Find this in the “mediums” section. \nBrushes — A variety of sizes recommended. Synthetic brushes are suggested for beginners. Brush variety packs with assorted sizes are available in the brush section. \nPalette knife — Metal is preferred over plastic. \nSurface to paint on — The instructor will demonstrate various surfaces in class. To start\, a canvas board or stretched canvas is recommended. Size is up to the student; the instructor suggests 11″ x 14″ to 16″ x 20″. \nSketchbook and sketching supplies — pencils\, charcoal\, erasers\, etc. \nSmall containers for painting medium — Art stores sell small metal cups that attach to your palette; Mason jars work great as well. Please bring two — one for the Liquin and one for the Turpenoid. \n“The Masters” brush cleaner & preserver — a small tub of brush cleaner in a beige-colored container. \nAny questions? Email Andrea at andrea@agillustration.com. \nCancellation Policy\nStudents cancelling at least one week prior to the start of class will receive a full refund. Within one week of the start date\, tuition is non-refundable\, as we must cover materials and instructor costs. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column]\n\n\n	\n \n \n \n\n	\n	\n\n \n \n Jacqueline Pidgeon Pankuck\n \n\n \n \n [vc_row][vc_column width=”1/4″] \n\n\n\n[/vc_column][vc_column width=”3/4″][vc_column_text css=””] \nJackie Pankuck comes from a long line of Irish “makers” of arts and crafts. Her mother and grandmother were master seamstresses\, whom she watched intently as a child in Ireland — instilling in her a lifelong love of creating with her hands. After leaving  the corporate world\, Jackie opened her own business as a master seamstress\, designing and crafting wedding gowns for clients. \nIn 2017\, Jackie focused her time and studies on drawing and watercolor painting\, working under some amazing teachers from around the world. Painting\, in particular\, has been\, and will continue to be a constant and wonderful journey for her. \nJackie paints out of her own private studio in Pottersville\, New Jersey and teaches watercolor at A Maker’s Circle\, also in Pottersville. With ten years of teaching experience and a Best in Show award from the Garden State Watercolor Society\, she brings both passion and expertise to every class. \n[/vc_column_text] \n\n[vc_column_text css=”” line_height=”tight”]Website: jacquelinepidgeonfineart.com \nInstagram: @jacquelinepidgeonfineart \nFacebook: Jacqueline Pidgeon-Pankuck[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][/vc_column][/vc_row]\n\n\n\n \n \n	\n\n\n[/vc_column][/vc_row]

SUMMARY:Pottery: Hand Building with Laurie Scupp and Susan Palmer — July-September 2026
DESCRIPTION:About the Class\nNo wheel required — just your hands\, some clay\, and a whole lot of possibility. \nTuesdays\, July 14 – Sept. 1 | 10am–1pm | 8 weeks | All levels welcome

SUMMARY:Monotype Workshop With Jane Ramsey\, Sunday\, Aug. 16
DESCRIPTION:Monotype Workshop (Session 1 of 2) \n10-4pm \nSunday\, August 16 \n$195. \nExplore the mark-making possibilities of the monotype printmaking process! \nThe tools are simple and easy to use. We’ll begin by inking our acrylic plates and then\, using a variety of different items (rags\, makeup sponges\, spatulas\, popsicle sticks\, etc.) we will remove the ink to reveal our “whites”.  There’s even more to explore with adding texture by using sponges\, nylon scrubbies\, and more to press into the inked plate. \nYou can even go back into the finished monotype and add more toning or marks using a variety of tools such as litho sticks\, charcoal pencils and graphite. (SEE SESSION 2 to explore this with your prints made in this workshop.) \nMonotype printing is an experience in “letting go”!  Even as you plan and create there will always be unexpected marks that happen. This leads to all kinds of improvisation. \nThis technique is open to all kinds of interpretation. From abstraction to realism\, the possibilities are endless! \nI will be doing a demo of the process and showing you how I find inspiration from my sketchbooks\, translating them to monotypes. Then we’ll begin making our own monotypes. In addition to black ink\, this workshop will be expanded into using color inks for gradated effects! It will be exciting! \nAll art supplies are included. \nWhat to bring: \n\nThe process can be a little messy so wear appropriate clothes and/or an apron. If you are wearing long sleeves\, make sure you can push them up out of the way. Nothing dangly on your wrists\, they get in the way.\nBring some photos (either printed out or on your phone) for inspiration. Or some sketches or drawings that you find inspiring to work from. The subjects should be simple. For instance\, a singular tree\, flower\, animal\, etc.\nPack a lunch/snacks and beverage as we’ll take a break during the day.\n\n  \nJane will hold an optional “day 2” if you would like to take your prints to the next level. Take a look here.

SUMMARY:Monotype Printing with Jane Ramsey (Optional Day 2)
DESCRIPTION:Monotype Workshop (Session 2 of 2) \nPrerequisite: Must attend Monotype Workshop Session 1 \n10-2 \nMonday\, August 17 \n$120. \nWith the monotype prints created in  Sesson 1\, we will explore how to use them as the foundation and add to them with assorted materials. Using drawing materials (charcoal\, litho crayon\, pastels\, pencils\, etc.) and paints (watercolor and gouache)\, we will add color and details to bring another level of depth\, detail and expression. \nIt’s a perfect way to use ghost prints (a second print made from the plate that is lighter and more faded than the first monotype print). It’s amazing to see what you can add to the prints and how it transforms them. If you’ve ever admired Degas’ ballet paintings and drawings\, you’d be amazed to know that they incorporate the monotype process! \nI’ll be doing a short demo showing you some of the techniques I like to use. Art materials will be supplied that you can try out. Colored graphite sticks\, pastels\, paints\, colored pencils\, charcoal and more. \nWhat to bring: \n\nYour photos or reference materials you used the first day\nYour monotype prints made in Session 1\nAny of your personal art supplies you’d like to try\nPack a lunch/snacks and beverage as we’ll take a break during the day.

SUMMARY:Oil Painting with Andrea Gianchiglia - Sept.- Nov. 2026
DESCRIPTION:About the Class\nOil painting has a richness that no other medium quite matches — and this summer\, you’ll learn to use it with intention. Whether you’re picking up a brush for the first time or looking to sharpen skills you already have\, Andrea meets you where you are… \nTuesdays\, Sep. 15-Nov. 24 | 10am–12:30pm | 11 sessions | All levels welcome \nMaterials\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOil paint colors — Titanium White\, Viridian\, Burnt Sienna\, Yellow Ochre\, Sap Green\, Alizarin Crimson\, Phthalo Blue\, Cadmium Yellow\, Ultramarine Blue\, Cadmium Red \nOptional: Portland Warm Grey and Portland Cool Grey (made by Gamblin)\, Ice Blue (Richeson Shiva Series)\, Kings Blue by Michael Harding \nThere are many brands to choose from.
