DESCRIPTION:Learn the basics of hand building pottery every Tuesday for 8 weeks. Or get support to further your ceramic practice and projects in a classroom setting.  Throughout the class\, you’ll be guided through various clay handbuilding techniques such as pinch pots\, coil building\, and slab construction. You’ll create functional ceramic pieces like mugs\, bowls\, and plates\, while also experimenting with abstract forms and textures.  Classes are on Tuesdays 3/24-5/12 from 10-1PM. \nAll firing included.

Taught by veteran potter and sgraffito expert\, Susan Palmer\, this small-group class is open to true beginners and experienced throwers alike. \nOver eight sessions\, you’ll work through the fundamentals of throwing on the pottery wheel: centering\, opening\, pulling\, and shaping. You’ll create bowls\, cups\, vases\, and plates — functional pieces built with proper technique from the start. Susan’s teaching style emphasizes doing things right so the results actually show\, in a supportive\, unhurried environment where you have room to find your rhythm at the wheel. \nWith a maximum of just 7 students\, you’ll get consistent\, hands-on attention every class.
