SUMMARY:Monotype Printmaking Workskhop with Artist Jane Ramsey - Sun. March 22
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]\n\n\n\nExplore the mark making possibilities of this monotype printmaking workshop!\n\n\n\n\n\nThe tools in monotype printmaking are simple and easy to use. We’ll begin by inking our acrylic plates and then\, using a variety of different items (rags\, q-tips\, spatulas\, popsicle sticks\, etc.) you will remove the ink to reveal our “whites”.  There’s even more to explore with adding texture by using different items to press into the ink to create patterns. After the print is pulled you can go back in and add more toning or marks using a variety of tools such as litho sticks\, charcoal pencils and graphite. The possibilities are endless!\n\n\n\n\n\nMonotype printmaking is an experience in “letting go”!  Even as you plan and create there will always be unexpected marks that happen. This leads to all kinds of improvisation.\n\n\n\n\n\nJane will be doing a demo of the process and showing you how she finds inspiration from her sketchbooks\, translating them to monotypes. Then you’ll begin making our own monotypes.\n\n\n\nAll art supplies are included.\n\nWhat to bring:\n\n\nThe process can be a little messy so wear appropriate clothes and/or an apron. If you are wearing long sleeves make sure you can push them up out of the way. Nothing dangly on your wrists\, they get in the way.\nBring some photos on your phone for inspiration. Or some sketches or drawings that you find inspiring to work from. The subjects should be simple. For instance\, a singular tree\, flower\, animal\, etc.\nBring 5-6 sheets (8-1/2 x 11) of wax paper or parchment so you can safely transport your prints back home\nPack a lunch/snacks and beverage as we’ll take a break during the day.\n\n\n\n\n\n10-4pm\nSunday\, March\, 22\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nwww.janeramsey.com\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n  \n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
