DESCRIPTION: Drawing in Graphite \nBuilding your drawing skills is so beneficial for any aspiring artist!  Learn why being able to see and then translating that experience to paper is so rewarding. During our 6 Wednesday sessions we will cover: \n\nmaterials – a wide range of graphite tools from powdered form to pencils to solid sticks\nline\, shading\, value and texture\ncomposition\nspecial tips and techniques for special effects\nthe power of the eraser as a subtractive drawing tool\npapers & surfaces for drawing\nthe importance of developing a sketchbook practice\nThis is a 6 week series\, Sep. 10-Oct 22 – we will be skipping Oct. 1\n\n  \n\nSupply List: to be supplied upon sign-up.\n\n  \nAbout Jane:\nJane’s love of drawing began as a child with a sketchbook and pencil always in hand. She grew up in the village of Lumberville in Bucks County\, Pennsylvania immersed in a community of artists. SUMMARY:The Power of Pastels 8 Week Series with Andrea Gianchiglia: Fall 2025 (SOLD OUT)
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]Pastel Fridays are back starting September 26 and running through Nov. 21. 8 weeks  (skip 10/14) \nDelve deeper into the power of pastels each week with a teacher challenge.  Andrea will guide you through step by step demonstrations. Discussions will include color theory\, proportion\, drawing\, texture and more. \nAll levels are welcome. \nStudents are required to bring their own supplies. \n\n\nMaterials\nThe more pastels the better! \nA great starter set is Prismacolor Nupastels. The minimum set recommended is 36 count.\nSurfaces are important for pastels. Pastelmat by Clairfontaine is recommended. (A variety pack in several colors in 9 x 12 size is encouraged) \nOther great pastel brands that are optional: Unison\, Terry Ludwig\, Sennelier. \n\n\n\nAbout the Instructor\n\n\n\nAndrea Gianchiglia\nBFA\, University of Hartford Art School\, major in illustration\, minor in art history. Exhibitions: Many solo\, group and juried shows at various galleries and museums in the tri-state area. Awards: has won awards for her specialty\, animal portraiture. Her work is in private collections throughtout the country and is available for commissions. A member of Society of Animal Artists\, Salmagundi Club\, and the Catherine Lorillard Wolfe art group.
