Watercolor Skills: 8-week series with Jackie Pankuck

Watercolor has been called the most difficult painting medium. There are so many variables to contend with in any painting, whether it is with how much water to pigment ratio you are using, or when you use it and how wet is your paper at that moment. In this series, we will focus in detail on these issues.

Over 8, 2 hour classes, we will focus on different skills that will help bring your watercolor painting (and drawing) to a new level.  This is a great series that breaks down what you need to enjoy watercolor and paint in a loose, impressionistic manner. The topics include:

• managing water and pigment
• controlling washes
• skies
• foregrounds – creating texture and perspective
• color mixing – warm vs cool
• color theory – creating distance on a 2D surface
• planning – 3 washes
• pulling it all together in a final painting

All materials will be provided and all levels of expertise are welcome. Dates are 1/16, 1/23, 1/30, 2/6, 2/13, 2/20, 2/27, 3/6

Cancellation Policy: Students will be refunded in full up to one week prior to the class date. No refunds will be offered within a week of the beginning of the series.
