A Class on Using Natural Dyes with Fiber Artist, Kerstin Katko

September 11, 2021 @ 11:00 am - 4:00 pm

$130.00

Local fiber artist Kerstin Katko of Ducky’s Sheep Shack will help you explore some of the amazing botanical dye options and teach you the process so you can do it yourself. Plant options like avocado pits, beets, turmeric, onion skins and black walnuts can all be used to reimagine fabrics and reenergize your old clothes and give them new life. And as a special treat, this workshop will be at Kerstin’s studio in Long Valley so you will get a tour of her dye garden which will add so much to the learning process!

You will leave with a number of test swatches from different plants for future reference, tons of hands-on knowledge and a lovely, dyed, silk scarf of your own creation. All dye materials will be provided. No experience necessary. Masks are optional if you are vaccinated.

Cancellation Policy: A full refund will be given outside of 1 week of the class date.  Inside one week, no refund will be give as we need to pay instructors and purchase materials.
