Slow Fashion Indigo Dyeing Workshop
April 1, 2019 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
Monday, April 1 $125
10am-2pm
Indigo is the mother of all natural dyes. With its unique properties, the blues it creates are endless and unique. In this workshop, we will use indigo dye to transform your unloved clothing items into much loved works of art. Let’s embrace slow fashion and give new life to old items in your closet!
At A Maker’s Circle, we vigorously support the idea of slow fashion over fast fashion. Let’s stop buying new cloths. Instead, give new life to our old stuff. It’s better for the environment, our wallets and for fashion workers around the world.
Bring that white button down you never wear, that tired old (stained) white cotton sweater or those jeans whose fit you like but are way to pale and make them your new favorite!
In this workshop, you will make your own “indigo mother” and learn how to tend it for future use. You will then prep your garment with shibouri techniques and dye it for the perfect shade of indigo blue.
So sign up and dive into the closet!
Cancellation Policy: A full refund will be made for students cancelling earlier than 1 week before the beginning of any workshop. Within one week, there are no refunds. Thank you for your understanding as we must cover materials costs and instructor time for each offering.
