Drawing is a necessary skill in every art medium whether it is painting, sculpture, printing, etc. This class series will include 3, 1.5 hour sessions (Tuesdays), each of which will focus on a specific drawing skills with the goal of teaching you how to really see what is in front of you. While drawing still life sounds easy, our brains take short cuts that make this difficult. Each lunchtime session is different and will culminate in a 4th, 3 hour session where we pull it all together.
We will focus on:
- Contour drawing…training our brains to really see angles and lines of things
- Creating the illusion of light and form
- Working with shadowing to add dimension to this 2 dimensional art form
- Refining your work for more sophistication
- Pulling it all together in one, more complicated form
All materials will be provided and all levels of expertise are welcome.
