Day 2: Wednesday, 4/23, 10-12pm.
- These paintings and drawing looks great, will be protected UV degradation and humidity damage and allow you to enjoy your work without the glare of glass. And a huge plus, it’s cheaper than traditional framing!
- In Day 1, you will learn how to prepare and mount your water based painting on gator board.
- Students must bring your own work for framing (a watercolor, acrylic, drawing or print). You will mount one piece (max size 11×14). there are various types of surfaces on which to mount. For this class, we will be using gator board.
- On Day 2, we ready our pieces for the varnish process. They will be varnished to provide UV and humidity protection. We will do this outside since some of the archival sprays we use are very smelly!
- Then one final step – apply Dorland’s wax for extra protection and depth – and we are done!
- Class will be limited to 8 students.
- No experience required.
- All required supplies including gator board as well as adhesive materials, spray and wax will be provided
