Handbuilding with Plaster Molds – A Tamara Laird Workshop 5/29-31

Join visiting artist, Tamara Laird, as she guides you through the process of using plaster molds to impress clay slabs with texture. From these impressed clay slabs, you Tamara will guide you in handbuilding different vessels, keeping function and form in mind.   It is your choice to have a 2 day or 3 day workshop.   The first day will be spent making plaster molds with found objects, including feathers, flowers and leaves.  The second and third day will be spent successfully gaining skill at handbuilding different vessel inspired forms from the molds.  If you skip mold making, Tamara has molds you can work from.  Gain valuable insight as Tamara shares practical, problem-solving advice related to your studio work.

Participants in the hands-on workshop will receive clay materials and handouts that will provide valuable information about paper clay, glaze formulas, supplier information.   All experience levels are welcome.  $10 additional firing fee.
