If you’re interested in exploring all the possibilities of hand-building, try this 6 week hand building class with Susan Palmer.
The skills covered in the course include the fundamentals of hand building such as pinching, coiling and slab building. These skills make it easy to build functional ceramic items like mugs, cups and bowls and Susan will help you add your own creative flair to your pieces.
During your six weeks, you will also move beyond functional pieces to try your hand at animal sculpture..
There will be an emphasis on surface decoration using underglazes, enabling you to use the clay as a canvas on which to paint.
