Drawing for Painting with Jackie Pankuck Fridays, Sept-Nov, 2026

This drawing class is designed for painters and will focus on rendering a scene with just enough specificity to be the skeleton for a future painting. We will focus on the following concepts:

• contour drawing
• observational skills, scale and proportion
• proportion and measurement, gridding
• utilizing negative space to get the positive shapes right
• and the dreaded…perspective

Students will utilize photo references to create drawings that can be later used for paintings.

All materials will be provided for creating a preparatory drawing for 1, 1/4 sheet watercolor painting per class. If students want to prep drawings for additional future paintings, please bring additional watercolor paper for that purpose.

Cancelation Policy: 

Students cancelling outside one week before the beginning of the session will be refunded in full. Inside one week, tuition is non-refundable as materials and instructors must be paid.
