Watercolor has been called the most difficult painting medium. There are so many variables to contend with in any painting, whether it is with how much water to pigment ratio you are using, or when you use it and how wet is your paper at that moment. In this series, we will focus in detail on these issues.  In some cases we will purposely make mistakes so we can learn to avoid them!

Over 4 weeks we will focus on the following:

• Water to pigment ratio, what is looks like and when to choose a varied “thickness” of paint.
• To wet the paper or not to wet the paper, that is the question!
• Why value is critical to a good painting.
• Timing is EVERYTHING!
• Pulling collective learning together in one painting (3 hour session)

All materials will be provided and all levels of expertise are welcome.
