From Cylinder to Moon Jar: 1 Day Workshop with Susan Palmer and Lisette Bedoya

To make a good moon jar, you first need to throw a cylinder.  Let us first help you throw taller and more consistent cylinders in the morning and then on to moon jars in the afternoon. In this all day intensive, we’ll break down the essential techniques you need to master to transform your throwing: -Centering with control and efficiency -Opening and pulling evenly for height without losing stability -Creating even wall thickness from base to rim -Collar techniques for strength and shape -Shaping a balanced and intentional silhouette Troubleshooting common issues like wobbling, thick bottoms, uneven rims and collapsing shoulders. You’ll get live demos, targeted drills, and one-on-one coaching to refine your technique and build muscle memory fast. This workshop is perfect for: Advanced beginners to intermediate potters who can center clay but want more height, consistency, and confidence on the wheel.
