The Magic of Indigo Dyeing

Join us for a magical experience with organic indigo dye. Indigo is an organic, to  plant based dye that works in a very unique and fascinating  way. During the class, we will transform natural fabrics in indigo dye vats created in our studio. JACKIE PANKUCK will show you how to use indigo to create beautiful patterns and bring out all the ranges of indigo blue. Patterns are created with various Shibori (folding and resist) techniques to bring out one of a kind marks on your fabric.

The class includes:

• Dyeing one or two pieces of clothing that you bring from home – like a white shirt or pair of jeans at home which need new life. Maybe you don’t wear them because they have a stain or are just too pale for your liking.
• In addition to your own pieces, we will provide you with two large, organic tea towels that you will use Shibori techniques on to dye and take home.

Cancelation Policy: Student canceling more than 1 week prior to the beginning of class will receive a full refund. Within one week of class, tuition is non refundable as materials and instructor costs must be covered.
