Sketching Portraits Using Reductive Drawing in Charcoal

Charcoal has a unique way of creating emotion and tonality when sketching portraits. In this class, Jackie Pankuck will lead you in creating a portrait using reductive drawing. Reductive drawing is called the sculpture of drawing as you us the artist eraser to pull out the lights in a drawing, thereby creating the undulation of the face.

You can use a photo reference provided by us or bring one of your own.  We will help you choose one that will work best with this approach.

All experience levels are welcome and all materials will be provided.
